Your Guide to New Year’s Resolutions

It’s that time again! A new year is upon us, and it’s time to start thinking about those new year’s resolutions. While it may seem sometimes like these resolutions are just a loss cause, there are actually steps you can take to ensure that you meet some really awesome goals in 2018. We lay out a few key steps in prepping before the new year so you can feel great about all you accomplish this year.

Make a Plan

Whether your goals are personal or professional, we urge you to choose a few resolutions from each area of your life, and the important thing to remember is they can be big or small. Sometimes, it helps to group your resolutions by time: short term or long term and by type: personal, professional, spiritual or otherwise.

We highly recommend writing out your resolutions on paper so you can physically see, feel and revisit your resolutions all the time. Plus, there’s something so satisfying about pen and paper that isn’t as common these days.

Start Small

We all have a little ‘dreamer’ in us, and that’s great. That’s what pushes us to our limits, allows us to exceed our expectations and bring us happiness. However, dreaming too big can sometimes lead us to feeling inadequate when we may have underestimated how time and labor intensive your resolution was.

Start with small, easily obtainable resolutions and work your way up to the big one.

Hold Yourself Accountable

Put reminders in your phone, check in every month on your progress and reward yourself when you reach a goal! The mistake a lot of people make when setting new year’s resolutions is making a list, then letting it collect dust. Keep your list or motivators in easy sight, so you’re always reminded of why you’re doing this.

Grab a Friend

It’s a lot easier to be motivated to hit the gym when you have a partner in crime, right? Have a person in your life who will hold you accountable and check in on you and your goals. When you have someone else who genuinely wants you to succeed, you’re a lot more confident!

That’s it! We hope you all have an AMAZING 2018, and in case you didn’t see, we’ve announced our FIRST calendar for the new year! Be sure to check out all of our events here:
